Argentina took home the primary reward, but here are the other teams and individuals who stole the show in Qatar and now have awards to show for their efforts.

Fifa fair play award — England

Gareth Southgate’s men may not have finally brought football home, but the Three Lions were the fairest of them all.

Harry Maguire’s yellow card in their quarter-final defeat to France was England’s only booking throughout the tournament.

Another interesting stat which British fans will be proud of is that there were zero England fans arrested in Qatar this year — for the first time ever at a World Cup.

Young player of the tournament — Enzo Fernandez

The Argentine starlet was the difference maker for the eventual champions, coming into the 11 after their defeat to Saudi Arabia.

Fernandez scored a memorable goal against Mexico and the Benfica midfielder played throughout the knockout stages of the competition in Qatar.

Golden glove award — Emiliano Martinez

There was no surprise as to who the number one goalkeeper of the tournament would be once that spectacular final had concluded.

The Aston Villa shot stopper made a save in the shootout against France after keeping three clean sheets in the competition to make it yet another award for the South Americans.

Golden boot award — Kylian Mbappe

A final hat-trick may not have been enough to help France defend the World Cup, but it did take Mbappe beyond his PSG teammate Lionel Messi for goals scored at the tournament.

His eight goals in Qatar handed him the famous golden boot award. Golden ball award — Lionel Messi.

It was a hat-trick of individual awards to go with the ultimate prize as Messi took home the player of the tournament award.

The debate of who the greatest of all time is may have ended when Messi lifted the World Cup trophy. He made it happen throughout the tournament to prove just how much he deserved it.
