  • Ndlovu denied assaulting Mhlanga and claimed she entered his property and attacked him after their relationship ended.

Thandeka “Shanice” Mhlanga has apologised to actor Sipho Ndlovu after admitting that her domestic violence claims against him were false.

In a video, Mhlanga said she had withdrawn the gender-based violence case and accepted that she had damaged Ndlovu’s name.

“I’ve damaged his reputation,” she said. “I’ve chosen to withdraw the case because I’ve caused irreparable damage to his name and his image.”

Mhlanga said she made the claims “in the heat of the moment” because she was angry after their relationship ended.

She also admitted that she should not have gone to Ndlovu’s home after the break-up.

Mhlanga apologised to his fans, friends and people who may have decided not to work with him because of the claims.

The case began in 2024 when Mhlanga accused the former The Wife actor of assaulting her during a visit to his home.

Ndlovu denied the claim.

He said Mhlanga climbed over his wall and attacked him after finding him with another woman.

Ndlovu opened a counter-case, which led to Mhlanga’s arrest. Both sides then took legal action.

Mhlanga has now withdrawn her case, but no update was supplied about Ndlovu’s counter-case.

Sonke Gender Justice co-executive director Bafana Khumalo said false claims may sometimes come from personal relationship fights.

The National Prosecuting Authority said people who knowingly lie in court could face perjury charges.

However, prosecutors must also check whether people change their stories because of fear, threats or pressure.
