An unplanned race in luxury vehicles, a dramatic hike, botox, hyenas, an action-packed trip to Zanzibar and plenty of horses!
“Without revealing too much” that is what people can expect from Die Real Housewives van Pretoria (RHOP), an Afrikaans version of the Real Housewives format, said kykNET DStv channel on their website on Wednesday.
After the Real Housewives of Johannesburg, Durban, Lagos and the recently launched Cape Town version, kykNET will be launching the fifth version of Real Housewives on 13 October.
“We want to show our viewers a group of strong Afrikaans women from Pretoria who are great players in their families and communities, who are genuinely Afrikaans, and who of course also bring the swirl for which Real Housewives are known,” commented the director of kykNET channels Waldimar Pelser.
The reality television show will feature six women from Pretoria – who have not been named yet – every Thursday night in their “luxury vehicles, magnificent mansions, designer clothes” at their “extravagant parties” and draped in “the most expensive diamonds”, boasted kykNET.
“They know the beautiful things in life. This is a rare chance to get to know them intimately, and walk in their (high heel) shoes,” added Pelser.
The series is being produced by Provoco, which has produced reality shows like Sex in Afrikaans, Die Siener and Liefde Sonder Grense. It will air all its first 13 episodes on kykNET and Showmax.
