Following a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy in Polokwane, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has opened up on his side’s top three chances. As Amakhosi’s winless run extended to four games, the manager was honest about his side’s hopes for the season, telling the media that it is important they take it one game at a time.
“About finishing in the top three, I think we need to take it game by game. It’s true that we have to be honest, it will be difficult because we are losing points,” Nabi reporters media post-match.
“Probably we shouldn’t have lost these points. But we are going to take it game by game and see how and where we finish.”
Concentration lapses in defence and a lack of clinical edge in front of goal cost the Soweto giants, with Nabi opening up on what he felt went wrong on Saturday.
“Unfortunately, it was a frustrating game where we felt that we controlled the game in the first half. In the second half, maybe the opponent pushed more because the time that the opponent was dangerous was on set pieces,” Nabi said.
“Even the goal that they scored through a corner kick, we were making changes to bring Morris and George Matlou to give us height in those kinds of situations.
“But unfortunately, during that corner, it was one of our players that hit the ball and almost scored against us. It’s a game that we wanted to get points from very badly.”
