- Sifiso Malwane tried to rob a home but the owner fired his gun and hit him before he ran away.
- Police found his body buried in secret and are now looking for his brother Musa who hid the dead body.
Sifiso Malwane was a leader of a group that smuggled cars from KwaZulu-Natal to Mozambique. People called him Coach and Mlungu.
A homeowner shot and killed Malwane on Sunday night. This happened after Malwane broke into a house in the Thengani area in Manguzi.
Police say Malwane and another man went into the house with guns. They told the owner to give them his car keys.
The homeowner grabbed his own gun and shot at the men. Malwane was hit but he managed to run away from the house.
On Monday, 20 April, a special police team received information about a body buried in secret at Umgodiwemvubu. Police dug up the body and found it was Malwane.
Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said Malwane’s brother buried him. His brother is Musa Malwane.
Sifiso and Musa were on the police most wanted list in KwaZulu-Natal.
They were wanted for killing Sipho Juda Mthethwa. Mthethwa was a man who fought against border crime.
The brothers were also wanted for the murder of a traditional healer named James Mthembu. Mthembu was also known as Godo olulala Amankankane.
Police are still looking for Musa. Netshiunda said Musa will likely face more charges for hiding his brother’s body.
Police asked anyone who knows where Musa is to call them on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPS app.
