The recurring theme of Vonisani Mabunda’s 63 books on love is simple: in order to love, we must understand why we love.

Mabunda, who hails from Limpopo, has mastered the art of conveying the meaning of love, through his own experience and that of others.

Mabunda is also a poet. He has released a collection of 24 poetry books. His work seeks to change the perception of uMjolo “dating” in South Africa.

Vonisani was originally born in Limpopo, then moved to the townships of Alexandra and Tembisa in 2004 to pursue a writing career.

But due to his needing to be the breadwinner, he ended up having a day job as a maintenance technician and a house planner.

He began writing and focused his writings on social and political issues but most of all, on love.

“Many people have lost faith in relationships and have stopped believing in love,” he said.

“My writing is aimed at mending broken relationships, bringing hope, rebuilding families and giving partners the strength to stick together and go forward.”

His self-published series of books appear under the title of NO Apology.

Here is a verse from a poem taken from one of his latest works.

Never blind fold you

But bless you

Like bleach

Which brightens dots

I will turn your imperfection to perfection

Flavour you

Make you flourish
