Richards Bay coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has issued a stern warning to his Baroka FC counterpart Morgan Mammila ahead of the two teams’ Premier Soccer League play-offs decider.
The Natal Rich Boyz lead the promotion/relegation play-offs and host Baroka at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.
It is a match where Vusumuzi’s side will need just a point to survive relegation from the PSL.
But their opponents Baroka anchor the standings and need to win by at least a three-goal margin to jump to the top of the log and return to the top-flight league.
Bakgaga ba Mphahlele coach Mammila was on a spying mission, watching Saturday’s 1-1 draw between University of Pretoria and Richards Bay from the stands.
Vilakazi, however, has dismissed the Baroka coach studying his side and sends a warning to the former police officer-turned-coach.
“We’re playing at home. He [Mammila] must know that he is coming for a very tough one,” Vilakazi said on SuperSport TV.
“We haven’t lost a game, and we’re not gonna lose a game starting with Baroka at home. They failed to beat us away, so we can’t allow them to beat us at home.”
“So, it’s gonna be a very interesting one because he also has hope. I think he needs about three goals if I’m not mistaken to make it to the PSL and that’s not gonna happen with us.”
Wednesday will be a decisive day which will see second-placed Pretoria University go top of the table in the event Baroka beat Richards Bay 2-0.
