United saved by the technology!

Manchester United escaped an incredible Coventry City comeback to progress to the FA Cup final on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw at Wembley on Sunday.

The Red Devils got off to a flying start, with Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire putting Erik Ten Hag’s side two goals to the good heading into the break.

On the hour mark, Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0, with the semi-finals looking certainly out of reach for their Championship opposition.

Coventry had other plans though, with an incredible three-goal comeback taking place in the final 20 minutes as Ellis Simms, Callum O’Hare and Haji Wright all found the back of the net.

In extra time, the FA Cup looked to have delivered an historic, magical upset with substitute Victor Torp netting in second half stoppage time.

It was not to be, though, as VAR gifted United a late lifeline, ruling the goal out for a controversial offside and ensuring that penalties would loom.

There would be yet another twist as the shootout kicked off, though, with Casemiro denied first up by Coventry keeper Bradley Collins.

O’Hare and Ben Sheaf missed for Coventry as Rasmus Højlund scored for the Premier League side though, setting up a majestic all-Manchester final.
