Tyson doing well after medical scare

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson suffered health issues onboard a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday.

The incident came as the 57-year-old prepares to take on Jake Paul in a highly anticipated fight in Dallas this July, his first bout since 2020.

According to In Touch Weekly, the flight was delayed from disembarking after medical personnel were called to attend to Tyson 30 minutes before landing in LA.

His team announced that he is “doing great” now.

“Thankfully Mr Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him,” representatives told the New York Post in an email on Monday.

Tyson’s representatives denied that the disembarking of the flight was delayed due to the issue.

“It’s false reporting that his medical attention caused the flight delay. This two-hour delay was due to an air conditioning issue on the aircraft,” the representatives said.

Tyson will take on Paul on 20 July with the fight set to be streamed on Netflix.

The streaming service and Most Valuable Promotions will be partnering for the very first time to showcase the iconic event live from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
