  • Donald Trump warned Israel on social media to stop bombing Iran, calling it a major violation and demanding that they bring their pilots home.
  • A fragile peace deal collapsed within hours as Israel and Iran blamed each other for fresh missile attacks and deadly overnight strikes.

Donald Trump is furious after Israel and Iran started fighting again just hours after agreeing to stop.

The United States president shouted at reporters on Tuesday, saying: “They don’t know what the f*** they’re doing!”

He told them Israel had “gone on a mission this morning” and said he would try to stop it. “I don’t like the fact that Israel went out this morning. I’ve got to get Israel to calm down,” he said. “As soon as I get away from you, I’m going to see if I can stop it.”

Trump said both countries were to blame for breaking the peace. “They violated it, but Israel violated it too,” he said. “I’m not happy with Israel.”

Earlier in the day, he posted a warning on Truth Social in capital letters: “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”

Israel’s defence minister said Iran fired missiles first. But Iran said there was no real agreement and claimed they were only defending themselves from Israel’s “illegal aggression”.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country had reached its goals after 12 days of fighting. He warned Iran that if it attacked again, Israel would strike back hard.

Trump’s outburst came as he prepared to leave for a NATO summit.
