Award winning actor Siyabonga Thwala will be joining The River, more than a week after three top actors left the daily drama.
Mzansi Magic confirmed on Thursday they have caught the big fish in renowned actor Siyabonga Thwala.
Hlomla Dandala, Lawrence Maleka and Tango Ncetezo left the weekday drama almost two weeks ago.
The veteran actor will take on his age-old bad boy-role as the latest addition to The River.
The former eHostela, Isibaya and Generations: The Legacy actor will play go-getter Bangizwe Zwane.
He is said to have been friends with Lindiwe Dikana, played by Sindi Dlathu, since childhood and while he is more patient, he is just as ruthless. Like other men who have come into her life, Zwane also tries reaching into Dikana’s heart.
“On set, you must always be prepared. You must always position yourself to do something great. There are no boring or unimportant characters. All characters have a place in the story, even if they are not the leads,” said Thwala.
Viewers on Twitter applauded Thwala’s upcoming screen debut.
