It is often remarked that people want their own funerals to be joyous occasions, but this rarely comes to pass. However, Tiwa Savage looked happy at her father’s funeral, cheerfully dancing to music in celebration of his life.
The Nigerian superstar’s father, Prince Olanrewaju, was laid to rest last Friday, after passing away on 19 July.
A service of songs was held at Olanrewaju’s procession, and clips have circulated online of Savage dancing joyfully to them.
Wearing a regal blue and gold embellished dress, Savage dances while the pallbearers – who were also dancing – lay her father’s coffin in his tomb.
She is dancing just outside of the Rolls-Royce which she arrived at the funeral in, and while she dances a man stands solemnly next to her, holding an umbrella over her head.
After the service ended, the singer hosted family and friends at a funeral reception.
