Who would have thought that a film about a little octopus in the icy waters off Cape Town would be a blockbuster hit?
“My Octopus Teacher” got a worldwide following on Netflix last year.
Now it’s been nominated for an Oscar in the best documentary feature category.
It’s about the South African filmmaker, Craig Foster, and his remarkable relationship with a little octopus in the Atlantic waters off Miller’s Point near Simonstown.
The film was such a hit that it attracted the inevitable skits.
Like the one above, centered on the Kreepy Krauly pool cleaner, which is not in line for an Oscar.
