Members of the ANC Women’s League in KwaZulu-Natal have made it clear that they won’t leave the ANC for any other party.
The women said this during their Mayihlome prayer session in Durban on Thursday ahead of the party’s manifesto launch at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
The national president of the ANCWL, Sisisi Tolashe, said people must show the ANC more love than before because the party helps them take care of their kids.
“The ANC is the boyfriend that has been so loyal to us as women since 1994,” said Tolashe.
She said the ANC takes care of the nation’s kids from the first day in their wombs and it takes them to university until they get their degrees.
“The ANC is also like Jesus Christ because some people value it for doing good work for our people,” said Tolashe.
She urged members to go all out to campaign for the ANC.
Tolashe said they might be laughed at or chased away by dogs, but they must pray and carry on with the ANC campaign.
ANCWL KZN convener Bongi Sithole-Moloi said that even if the ruling party loses the elections, its members will remain with the ANC.
“It will take a strong man to convince us to leave our beloved boyfriend, which is the ANC,” said Sithole-Moloi.
Tolashe said the Women’s League made a vow that they will love the ANC forever because it is the first boyfriend whom they committed to love.
