Christmas has come early to some who will be travelling to Zimbabwe from South Africa, as this December every passenger of an unnamed bus service is getting two litres of cooking oil.
Passengers boarding these buses from Johannesburg are receiving the oil, reported The South African.
Blessings Romaba, one of the people who used the bus services, was quoted as saying: “The bus transporter is doing a great thing for his customers this December on every trip from South Africa to Zimbabwe.”
However, many on social media have wondered where the supply of the cooking oil may have come from. Some even jokingly suggested that it might be part of the loot from the Sunfoil warehouse near Johannesburg, where sunflower oil worth millions was stolen in October.
Wherever the oil comes from, one thing’s for sure: the passengers won’t have to worry about frying their favourite soul food this Christmas. Cooking oil will be one less grocery item to buy.
