Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba “Mshishi ” Zwane is back in the running to defend the Premier Soccer League (PSL) award he won last season.
Running away with the awards last season, Zwane won the Player’s Player of the Season, PSL Footballer of the Season and Midfielder of the Season.
This season, he has been nominated for Player’s Player of the Season and Midfielder of the Season.
It won’t be a surprise to see his name on the list when the nominees for Footballer of the Season are announced. Mshishi has scored nine goals so far.
His teammate, striker Peter Shalulile, is also nominated in the Player’s Player of the Season category.
Shalulile’s performance has seen him netting 11 goals in his first season as a Downs player. He is three goals short of the Premiership leading goalscorer Bradley Grobler.
Maritzburg United striker Thabiso Kutumela is also nominated for the Player’s Player of the Season. Since joining the Team of Choice from Orlando Pirates earlier this season, he has scored 12 goals.
