PICK OF THE SPORT: Sundowns host Pyramids in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final, looking to strike early and bring the trophy back to Tshwane, writes Dylan Bettencourt.

Mamelodi Sundowns are just two matches away from conquering the continent. The Caf Champions League final kicks off this weekend, with the Brazilians hosting Egyptian giants Pyramids in the first leg on Saturday at 15:00. After cruising through the group stage and grinding through the knockouts, Sundowns now have a shot at sealing their second continental title. They’ll want to make home advantage count before heading to Cairo for the decider, and the form book says they can.

➜ Back home, the Betway Premiership enters its final stretch with plenty still on the line. While Sundowns have already claimed the title, the fight for second place and the Caf Confederation Cup spot is still on.

Orlando Pirates face a tricky trip to AmaZulu, knowing a win will strengthen their grip on second and take them further clear of Stellenbosch and Sekhukhune. Chiefs, stuck mid-table, host Polokwane City in a match that’s all about pride and ending the season on a high.

Cape Town City need points badly to stay out of the relegation playoff zone when they meet Stellenbosch, while Golden Arrows face Sekhukhune in another key fixture for the top-three race.
