The 2024-25 PSL season fixtures have been announced, with the standout match being between Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United.
The season starts on 14 September, with these two Tshwane rivals facing off at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
On the same day, Orlando Pirates will play Chippa United at Orlando Stadium, while Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Bloemfontein to face Marumo Gallants at Toyota Stadium.
While the fixtures for Chiefs and Pirates seem straightforward, Sundowns will have a tough start to their title defence against a determined SuperSport United.
SuperSport are eager to improve after starting strong last season but losing momentum towards the end.
Kaizer Chiefs’ match against Marumo Gallants will be their first competitive game of the season, as they were not in the MTN8 tournament like their rivals.
Chiefs will soon face another major challenge when they host Sundowns on 28 September at FNB Stadium in their fourth league match.
PSL fans will have to wait until 1 February 2025 for the highly anticipated Soweto Derby between Chiefs and Pirates.
There is a chance the two teams might meet earlier in the Carling Knockout.
Their next league encounter is scheduled for May 2025, and they could also clash in the Nedbank Cup.
