Award-winning amapiano artist and DJ Kabza De Small has proven once again why they call him the “king” of amapiano.
Kabza De Small, whose real name is Kabelo Motha, managed to get all four songs from his recent EP titled Ziwangale into the top 30 of iTunes’ Top 100 SA music chart, five days after the game-changing project was released on 22 April.
In the project, Kabza De Small also brought Durban kwaito star DJ Tira into his first song on the EP, titled “Ziwa Ngale”, which also features artists Beast, Mshunqisi, DJ Exit SA, “Mr Adiwele” Young Stunna and Felo Tee.
“Ziwa Ngale”, which shifts the amapiano sound towards Durban kwaito with traces of the coastal city’s native Gqom genre, is currently sitting at number 3 on the iTunes SA music chart and number 1 on YouTube’s trending music.
The other three songs, “Ebusuku” featuring Nkosazana Daughter, “Kabza” featuring Murumba Pitch and “Mak’shoni Langa” featuring, in addition to Murumba Pitch, DJ Maphorisa and Da Muziqal Chef, sit at number 7, number 12 and number 26 respectively, on the iTunes music chart.
