Soldiers rescue family from burning car

A family was saved from a burning car in Boipatong by SANDF soldiers and police.

Police and soldiers were operating in Mamelodi Street on Tuesday when they saw the vehicle on fire.

The rescue was done by four members of 21 SA Infantry Battalion, based in Soweto:  Corporal Maseko, Private Poolo, Private Kgomo and Private Sigwavhulimu.

The mother and five-month-old baby, who had serious wounds, were rushed to Sebokeng Hospital in an SANDF ambulance.

The father jumped out of the driver’s seat and escaped with minor injuries.
