S’jola Sonke villain speaks!

Scrolla.Africa chatted to the single lady who was labelled as villain in the Mzansi Magic’s reality show S’jola Sonke.

She said if that’s what she’s called because she speaks the truth, then so be it.

In this show, three couples and 17 singles, who believe in having more than two people in an intimate relationship, embark on a four-week journey to find love.

The couples and singles openly date each other until they find their ideal combination, or for some, combinations.

If singles fail to make a connection with any of the couples, they run the risk of being kicked out.

Actress, beautician and content producer Lungile Yende, 32 — affectionately known as Lungi de Ville — from Zola in Soweto, said she arrived in the house looking for a genuine connection. But things didn’t go as she expected.

She formed a bond with one of the couples, Test and Rainbow, but it ended dramatically when more singles were brought into the house.

One party connected with a new single and she was left hanging without being told.

Angry that she wasn’t informed about the new connection, Lungile confronted the couple and said the response she got from Rainbow wasn’t pleasant. This is when all hell broke loose.

“Another thing that annoyed me is that production cut out a lot of scenes, scenes where I was provoked to a point where I got that angry, but I seem like a bad person,” she said.

Lungile said she’s someone who is true to herself and speaks her mind, so she wasn’t about to let people walk all over her.

“There was also a lot of disrespect coming from couples, it’s like our feelings didn’t matter to them,” she said.

A few episodes after her break up with Test and Rainbow, she connected with one of the ladies from a lesbian couple, but she clarified that it was just a friendship bond.

“Yes I love open relationships but I’m straight and wasn’t about to do something out of my comfort zone just to stay on the show,” she said.

Lungile said the most important thing she learned in that show is that open relationships are best because there is honesty and transparency.

“People are always curious about what’s out there and we saw it whenever new singles came in,” she said.

As an example, she recounted being dumped by another girl who then cheated on that couple with another single.

She said she’s currently single and looking to be squeezed into someone’s relationship.

Lungile has appeared in eTV’s Black Door and Lenyalo hase papadi, and is now in eTV’s Isitha. She’s encouraging couples to be open in adding other people into their relationships to avoid secrets and deceit.
