Sizwe Dhlomo has signed off from Kaya 959. Wednesday 27 May is his last morning on the breakfast show, Siz the World with Sizwe Dhlomo, after six years at the station.

Dhlomo did not say what comes next. He thanked listeners, his team and the station for the time they gave him.

“Breakfast radio is a special privilege because you become part of people’s mornings, their routines, and their lives,” Dhlomo said.

“I leave with appreciation and wish the station well as it begins its next chapter.”

Kaya 959 acting managing executive Dave Tiltmann said the station is grateful for what Dhlomo built.

“He is a broadcaster with a strong point of view, a deep understanding of the world around him and a rare ability to provoke thought and conversation,” Tiltmann said.

Thomas Msengana will take over the 06:00 to 09:00 weekday slot in June. Kaya 959 will announce its new permanent breakfast team in June, with the show launching in July 2026.

Dhlomo has been a fixture in South African radio for two decades. He first came to public attention after winning MTV Base’s VJ Search in 2005 and has since worked at YFM, 947 and 702. At Kaya 959, he hosted Kaya Drive before moving to the breakfast slot.

He has not confirmed what he plans to do next.
