Andile Mpisane’s ex Sithelo Shozi is publicly petitioning for a protection order, claiming he has threatened her life on a number of occasions.

Shozi, who is also the mother of Mpisane’s two children, announced on her Instagram page that she will dedicate August to bringing attention to gender-based violence (GBV) as South Africa’s Women’s Month gets underway.

She also disclosed that she would be collaborating with other organisations, including Women for Change SA, which helps victims of domestic abuse.

Shozi has made serious allegations of abuse in recent weeks against the chairman of Royal AM.

She claimed that Mpisane would often beat her in front of his family, an allegation Royal AM owner Shawn MaMkhize denied.

Shozi also shared a petition on Change.org to help her in obtaining a protection order against Mpisane.

“I have filed for a protection order and ask you to please sign this petition to plead for justice to prevail; for the protection order to be granted so that me and my children are safe,” she wrote.

Within hours of being shared, the petition #IStandWithSithelo received 18,563 signatures with a goal of 25,000.

She wrote, “I have filed for a protection order against the father of my children. The hearing for the granting of a final protection order against him will be heard on the October 31 at the Point

Waterfront Magistrate’s Court,”
