The family of much-loved singer Suthukazi “Suthu” Arosi is asking for help to pay for her cancer treatment.
Arosi, 64, known for her hit song Ingane Yabelungu, has been in and out of hospital for chemotherapy in recent months.
Despite being ill, the Eastern Cape-born star is staying strong through her faith and support from loved ones.
Arosi, who has performed in America, Britain, and Germany, is struggling to pay her growing medical bills.
Her friend Bongani Mahlangu, a former journalist and music promoter, is asking the public to help pay for her treatment, Zimoja reported.
The family wants anyone who can help to send money to Arosi’s mother.
In her 40 years of making music, Arosi has worked with South African greats like Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu, Jonas Gwangwa, and Miriam Makeba.
She also toured the world performing in The Lion King.
While doctors are still working to determine what type of cancer she has, there is hope she will get back on stage soon.
Arosi is known for speaking up about HIV/Aids, and her powerful songs like Wemnt’ Omnnyama and Vumani are still loved by fans.
