Shebeshxt faces arrest in Botswana

By Rorisang Modiba

Shebeshxt is facing legal action with a Botswana promoter for not appearing at a gig he was paid for.

The organisers, Boxyard Events, have filed a complaint against Shebeshxt, the South African musician from Limpopo, real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke.

A temporary court order from the Lobatse Magistrate’s Court has been issued, stating that if he enters Botswana, he could be detained at the Botswana Prisons Service Facility.

A friend said Shebeshxt is used to being arrested.

“But he doesn’t want to go to jail for missing a booking or having his passport taken away,” the friend said.

This incident is another failure to appear by the artist. In December, he did not show up for the Red Square DJ Knock-Out event with Skomota after receiving full payment of R45,000, leading to the event’s failure.
