Setback for Boohle as new video about running short of cash runs short of viewers

Sizwe Sibiya

“Siyathandana” hit maker Boohle has finally released the music video for her January struggles song titled “Ngimnandi”. The song features DJ and producer Gaba Cannal, but very few have so far watched it.

With just over 50,000 subscribers on the Boohle SA official YouTube account, her music video received less than 35,000 views after its first 24 hours on the video streaming platform. This is a setback for the singer who has produced hits in the past year, with music videos like “Singili” reaching close to two million views without any features.

In the meantime “Siyathandana”, which she released with Cassper Nyovest last year, is sitting at 12 million views.

It’s too early to tell whether the singer should be worried about her music career or not but we know one thing for certain after listening to “Ngimnandi”: Boohle is healthy – but she is only running short financially.

“Please lend me a thousand. Please lend me a million. Please lend me money,” sings Boohle in Zulu, assuring people who are broke this January after a crazy festive season that they are all in the same boat.
