  • Orlando Pirates will host Magesi FC at Orlando Stadium on Saturday at 6pm as they chase the league championship title.
  • Lebone Seema says Pirates have been unbeaten in their last 11 games and have only conceded five goals this season.

Orlando Pirates defender Lebone Seema says the team wants to win the league title.

The Buccaneers host Magesi FC at Orlando Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 6pm.

Pirates are sitting third on the log with 29 points after 13 games. They are chasing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have 32 points from 15 games.

But Pirates have two games in hand over Sundowns.

Seema said winning the league is the team’s big goal.

“As a team, we said we want to win the league. And to do that, we need to keep winning games,” he said.

He spoke to reporters at Rand Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers had a rough start to the season. They lost their opening two league matches.

But since then, they have been unstoppable. They are unbeaten in their last 11 games. They have won nine and drawn two.

Seema joined Pirates from TS Galaxy at the start of the season. He has been key to the team’s defence.

Pirates have let in the fewest goals in the league this season. They have only conceded five goals in 13 games.

Seema gave credit to coach Abdeslam Ouaddou for their defensive strength.

“We’ve been doing the same thing since the beginning of the season, defending together, keeping the team compact and just putting in the work,” he said.

“Of course, the coach puts a bit of pressure on us, but his main focus is on the defence.”
