If I weren’t impressed by the writing, I’d be so mad at the current storylines on Scandal.
For one, will Dintle and Nhloso even make it down the aisle? Because these two are treating their relationship like a Grade 10 first romance: clueless, foolish, and with no future. Tell me why Nhloso hasn’t even thought about where he and Dintle will live, but he was happy to take a sthembu. Dintle wants a giant wedding; he wants one at his uncle’s house. Dintle’s father asks how he’ll take care of two wives, and he says, “Don’t talk to me about my finances.” And this man is risking his first marriage for this.
And then there’s Thalitha More, who is turning out to be a bigger monster than we thought. She tells Patricia to disappear so she can save whatever secret she’s hiding. And because we know Thalitha doesn’t make small mistakes, this secret will most likely destroy her entire family.
Then there’s Bridget, who is risking her life to expose that Mthunzi is not Sammyday’s real son – but we all know Mthunzi will kill someone before he lets that happen.
If you had to pick a villain to deal with on Scandal, would it be Mthunzi, Thalitha or Tiro? And funny how they’re all in one family. Money really is evil.
