As champions Manchester City were defeated, champions-elect Liverpool broke the 70 point barrier with a 3-1 win over Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds went 16 points clear of Arsenal at the Premier League summit, albeit having played two games more, as the Anfield faithful continued their chorus of “now you’re gonna believe us, we’re gonna win the league…”
After a tricky trip to Paris in midweek, Arne Slot will no doubt already have one eye on Tuesday’s Champions League home leg against PSG.
Facing the league’s bottom club may have caused for some complacency; and as you would imagine, the underdogs would take full advantage.

Callum Hudson Odoi’s winner put Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops four points clear of the Citizens in third place, well en-route to Champions League qualification.
On Sunday, all eyes will be on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal when they visit Manchester United. Anything other than a win will surely put the Gunners out of the title race.
