President Cyril Ramaphosa and EFF leader Julius Malema received loud applause when Bishop Engena Lekganyane introduced them to the ZCC congregation at the St Engenas ZCC church in Moria, Limpopo, on Easter Sunday.
Malema and Ramaphosa hugged on stage and both men participated in the church’s prayer activities.
Key ANC figures and regional leaders accompanied Ramaphosa.
Julius Malema attended with his wife and the head of the EFF presidency, Vuyani Pambo MP.
Ramaphosa congratulated the bishop on the church turning 100 and said: “I greet you all, Zionists. I came here not for politics,” TimesLive reported.
Ramaphosa acknowledged what Bishop Lekganyane had said in his sermon – that South Africa had vast natural resources and minerals which should be used to lift its people out of poverty.
