It was a day for the young Proteas bowlers to remember as they beat Zimbabwe by nine wickets in ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup action on Wednesday.
The super six stage of the competition could not have got off to a better start for the hosts as they opted to field first in Potchefstroom.
Nathaniel Hlabangana was run out early for Zimbabwe before the Kwena Maphaka show got underway.
The Johannesburg-born left armer picked up a memorable five-wicket haul for just 34 runs in his ten overs.
Tristan Luus took 3/25 alongside him to wrap up the innings for just 102 with 20 overs to spare.
The run chase was rather straightforward for the Proteas, with openers Steve Stolk and Lhuan-dre Pretorius running rampant in the first ten overs.
Anesu Kamuriwo picked up the breakthrough immediately after the powerplay, but it would be no more than a consolation as David Teeger arrived to knock off the winning runs.
South Africa currently sit in second spot in the super six table, with Australia occupying first place after a 110 run win over England. The Proteas next take on Sri Lanka on Friday.
