Evanilson’s early deflected goal proved the difference, with Bournemouth thoroughly outplaying their hosts in all departments.
Only the woodwork and poor finishing prevented a more emphatic victory for the visitors.
Meanwhile, Manchester United edged out Burnley 3-2 in a thrilling match at Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes scored a stoppage-time penalty to seal the win after the teams traded goals throughout the match.
In the late game, Newcastle United and Leeds United played out a goalless draw, with the Magpies struggling to create chances without a proven striker.
New signing Nick Woltemade watched from the stands as his side failed to find the breakthrough while want way striker Alexander Isak remained absent from proceedings as his situation continues to be monitored by Liverpool.
On Sunday, the only two sides with a 100 percent record thus far will take centre stage to close off the game week as Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield.
