  • Police met Brown Mogotsi at his lawyers’ offices in Johannesburg, seizing devices linked to a fraud and corruption investigation.
  • Investigators also questioned him about the Vosloorus shooting where gunmen opened fire on his car earlier this week.

Police have seized businessman Brown Mogotsi’s electronic devices and questioned him as part of two ongoing investigations — one for fraud and corruption, and another for attempted murder.

The South African Police Service said a search and seizure warrant, issued for 16 October 2025, was executed at Mogotsi’s lawyers’ offices in Johannesburg.

Officers investigating a fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice case confiscated several devices belonging to him.

Police confirmed that a second team, investigating the attempted murder case, also met with Mogotsi at the same offices.

The businessman was recently targeted in a shooting in Vosloorus. He told police that gunmen in a white bakkie opened fire on his red Chevrolet Aveo on Monday night. Eleven shell casings were found at the scene.

Mogotsi had initially refused to cooperate and failed to report to the Vosloorus Police Station as instructed. He has since resurfaced and is now working with investigators through his legal team.

Police said they will not make any further comment while investigations continue.

Mogotsi’s seized devices will be analysed as part of the fraud and corruption probe, which has been ongoing since a police raid at his North West business premises in October.
