Oscar Pistorius reportedly has a new girlfriend just months after getting out of jail. She is Rita Greyling, a 33-year-old from Mpumalanga who helps run businesses.
Greyling is said to have a striking resemblance to Reeva Steenkamp, Pistorius’s girlfriend whom he shot dead on Valentine’s Day in 2013.
The former Olympic runner, known as “Blade Runner”, was freed on parole in January 2024. He now lives at his uncle’s R47-million house in Waterkloof, Pretoria.
According to Netwerk24, Rita’s family is well-known in Wakkerstroom. Her family made news when a young farmer drowned at her brother’s bachelor party in 2022.
Pistorius killed Steenkamp by shooting special bullets through a bathroom door. He said he thought she was a burglar, but her family has always said he meant to kill her.
He was first sent to jail for six years in 2016. In 2017, judges extended his sentence to 13 years and five months.
Pistorius must follow strict rules while on parole. He must inform the police if he wants to move house and must wear a tracking device.
