  • Orlando Pirates host Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night as Pirates chase another strong home performance after four straight home wins.
  • Chippa United arrived in Johannesburg bottom of the table with one win in twelve games and only one point from five away matches.

Orlando Pirates return to league action on Tuesday night, and their fans want another big home performance.

Supporters have watched Pirates stay unbeaten in four home games. They hope that form continues when Chippa United arrive at Orlando Stadium.

It has been a tough season for Chippa. The side from the Eastern Cape sit bottom of the table after a terrible start.

They have only one win in twelve matches. That victory came against Orbit College. They have only seven points, with just one point earned away from home. They have scored only three goals in five away games.

The break in the season may have helped Chippa regroup, but they now face one of the strongest home teams. Pirates have won four home matches in a row without letting in a goal.

Pirates are in second place and are chasing Mamelodi Sundowns at the top. They are unbeaten in their last eight league games. Before the break, they drew with Sundowns and then beat Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou’s team could also welcome back Sihle Nduli, Olisa Ndah and Makhehleni Makhaula from injury.

Pirates beat Chippa 3-0 away earlier this season. They have already won their last four matches against the Chilli Boys. Since the first meeting between the teams thirteen years ago, Pirates have won eighteen of the twenty-five games. Chippa have only beaten them four times. Their last win was in the 2022/23 season.

Kick-off is at 7:30pm. The match will be on SuperSport PSL, with updates on Pirates’ social media.
