Pirates back on top after Galaxy win

Orlando Pirates reclaimed top spot in the PSL with a thumping 6-0 win over TS Galaxy, led by Relebohile Mofokeng’s hat-trick.

Mamelodi Sundowns, who did not play this weekend, will feel the pressure of the title race despite knowing that they have it in their hands when they next take to the field following the international break.

Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC made significant strides in their CAF qualification push, with Chiefs beating Magesi FC 2-0 and AmaZulu edging Polokwane City 1-0.

Amakhosi’s back-to-back wins have lifted them to fourth place, while AmaZulu climbed to third.

Other teams making waves this weekend include Siwelele FC, who moved up to 10th with a 1-0 win over Orbit College and Golden Arrows, who solidified their top-eight position with a 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United.

Durban City claimed KwaZulu-Natal derby bragging rights, beating Richards Bay 1-0 to jump to fifth.

With the Premiership heating up, teams are gearing up for a thrilling title chase and CAF qualification battle.
