Orlando Pirates shared the spoils with Algerian side ES Setif in the opening group A match of the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
The historic match at Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra, Ghana, ended in a goalless draw. Both teams settled for a point apiece and tied on one point. But the SA side moves to second position in group A.
The two sides played each other for the first time in the history of the CAF competition. The match was held at the neutral venue due to travel restrictions in the Northern parts of Africa.
In the other group A match, Enyimba defeated Ahly Benghazi 2-1 in their opening CAF Confederation cup match on Wednesday at Enyimba Stadium, Nigeria.
The victory for the Nigerian side moves them to the top of group A with three points ahead of Orlando Pirates and ES Setif.
Next match: Orlando Pirates will host group leaders Enyimba on the 17 March at Orlando Stadium. Kick-off 18:00.
