Percy Tau wants to stay and fight for his position

Percy Tau wants to stay in the English Premier League and fight for his place in the team at Brighton & Hove Albion.

“I am looking to fight for my position, that’s my intention,” he said.

Brighton signed the 27-year-old South African in 2018 but because of work permit issues he couldn’t play for the club. He had successful loan spells in Belgium with Royale Saint-Gilloise and Club Brugge.

At Brighton he has only featured three times since January which has had fans calling for another loan spell.

Tau feels differently. “I don’t think anyone wants to do that at this stage. I didn’t play enough for that to happen,” he said.

He also said his manager, Graham Potter also agrees that he has not played enough games.

Tau and South African soccer fans will be hoping this changes next season.

Brighton have only scored 40 goals this season and Tau can certainly improve on that for Brighton as his attacking skills are up there with the very best. Tau managed two assists in his three Premier League games. Given more games he’ll surely provide the goods for Brighton.

Tau is the 14th South African to feature in the English Premier League which is widely considered to be the best league in the world.
