The Golden Globes were all about Oppenheimer this year, with Christopher Nolan’s movie stealing the spotlight and leaving Barbie in the dust.

Oppenheimer won five awards, including best drama, best director for Nolan, best score, and acting awards for Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.

Nolan, backstage with the media, spoke about his fascination with J. Robert Oppenheimer’s tragic story.

Nolan’s wife Emma Thomas, also the film’s producer, loved the film’s unique take on a dark chapter in history.

Murphy, the star of the show, praised his “visionary director”, while Downey Jr., playing Oppenheimer’s rival, called the film a “masterpiece”.

Meanwhile, Barbie, despite leading the night with nine nominations, managed only two wins.

The film won best song, which was by Billie Eilish and Finneas, and a new trophy for box office achievement.

Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig were gracious in defeat, dedicating their win to moviegoers and the entire Barbie team.

The biggest surprise of the night? Poor Things taking the best comedy award from Barbie. Emma Stone, who won best actress for her role, said playing Bella Baxter changed her outlook on life.

Hollywood’s finest, including Bruce Springsteen, Dua Lipa, and Taylor Swift, attended the event.

Trevor Noah was nominated for best stand-up comedy on television but did not win. Former host of the ceremony, Ricky Gervais, won the award but did not attend the event.
