An infamous hunter of lions, elephants and giraffes was shot dead when his truck broke down in Limpopo.
Riaan Naude’s company Pro Hunt Africa offers its customers the chance to hunt wild animals near Kruger National Park.
The company’s Instagram account regularly posts pictures of the 55-year-old posing next to slaughtered wild animals.
One photograph shows him crouching next to a dead giraffe with a large exposed wound on its neck. In another, Naude is pulling on the mane of a dead lion to prop up its head for the photo.
Last week, Naude was shot dead at “close range” shortly after his truck broke down in Marken Road in Limpopo.
An eyewitness said that a white Nissan pulled up next to his truck, two men hopped out and immediately shot Naude in the head.
Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi said that a motive has not yet been established and no suspects have been arrested.
“The man was lying with his face up and there was blood on his head and face,” Seabi told the Daily Mail.
