Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend in Trinidad has inflated testicles.
This revelation brought the world to a standstill this week when the American rapper tweeted it as a reason to be cautious about the Covid-19 jab.
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen,” said the devastated rapper.
“His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding.”
He carried on with a heartfelt warning: “Just pray on it and make sure you’re comfortable with your decision and you are not bullied.”
To be clear, the Covid-19 vaccine does not cause impotency or swollen testicles. In fact, Covid-19 itself might pose a risk to male fertility.
It all began with the Met Gala, an annual fundraising event for the rich and famous in America. Minaj could not attend this year’s event because she has not yet been vaccinated.
“If I get vaccinated it won’t be for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now,” she tweeted on Thursday.
Not only has the condition of Minaj’s cousin’s friend’s balls been retweeted nearly 90,000 times, the news has also broken into British politics.
During a coronavirus briefing by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, England’s chief medical officer, Professor Chris Whitty, said Minaj “should be ashamed” that she has been the spreader of misinformation about Covid-19.
Minaj wasted no time hitting back, and came gunning for both Whitty and Johnson.
Alongside a picture of Whitty, she tweeted, “I love him even though I guess this was a diss? The accent ugh! Yassss boo!!!”
Later, she recorded a voice note mocking Johnson in a British accent.
But Minaj has found an ally in the rightwing US news host, Tucker Carlson, who has aired many anti-vax segments. He made an on-air plea for her cousin’s friend to make an appearance on his talk show.
Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago’s Health Minister responded, saying there has been no reported case of anyone taking the Covid-19 vaccine locally and becoming impotent.
Meanwhile, other theories were floated on social media of how the friend’s balls came to be swollen and he was made impotent, with some suggesting that he had contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
“A man cheats on his fiance, gets an std, lies about it, and then feeds an international anti-vaccine conspiracy, impressive chain of events,” tweeted one skeptic.
