Mzansi in high spirits over lifting of booze ban

South Africans went nuts over this week’s decision by President Cyril Ramaphosa to lift the ban on the sale of alcohol.

Thousands queued up outside bottle stores around the country ahead of the bulk buying madness on Tuesday morning.

A tavern owner from Springs sold his car for R200,000 and spent R150,000 on booze to restock.

Meanwhile, Christmas came early for motorists in Factoria, Krugersdorp in Gauteng when a SAB truck fully loaded with beers lost its load along the highway.
