With breathtaking landscapes, good weather and plentiful aspiring talent, South Africa is fast becoming a lucrative pot of gold for cooking up international movies in Africa.

Social media recently went abuzz when Tom Cruise was spotted in Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal shooting scenes for the next instalment of the Mission Impossible movie series.

Cruise, an Academy Award nominated actor, was reportedly spotted on the south coast of KZN and Hoedspruit in Limpopo this February where giant props have also been assembled.

Pictures of the actor at scene locations greeting locals were shared by fans on Twitter. Cruise will also shoot a scene at the Oribi Gorge near Port Shepstone, where he was seen flying an aircraft, according to TshisaLIVE.

Meanwhile, stars for the highly anticipated The Woman King have also started descending on Cape Town where scenes for the movie will be shot. British actor John Boyega shared pictures with his fans on top of the Table Mountain on Instagram at the beginning of February. Boyega will be starring in the movie based on true events alongside Thuso Mbedu and Viola Davis.
