Kwanele Kubeka, the newest star of The Real Housewives of Durban, says she’s not faking anything — not even her messy marriage.
At 30, she is opening up about life in the spotlight, her relationship struggles and why being honest matters more than looking perfect.
“My marriage isn’t perfect, and I’m proud to say that,” she said, Sunday World reported. “We’ve had ups and downs like everyone else. I didn’t want to fake a perfect life. I wanted to show the truth.”
For Kwanele, being real means being relatable. “Life is about being real. We’re not perfect, but we’re going through everything together,” she said. “I hope our story helps others feel less alone.”
Since joining RHOD, she says she’s felt love and support from her fellow castmates, but it’s also come with a change in how people view her online.
“Before the show, my social media was just about my own interests. Now, everything I post gets a lot of attention,” she said.
“It feels like people are always watching me. Every post and every comment gets picked apart. It’s been crazy. But I’m trying to stay true to myself and not let people’s opinions change who I am.”
Despite the pressure, she’s seeing the upside. Her following has grown, and she’s building connections with people who relate to her story.
“It’s changed my online life in a big way,” she said.
