- Mthaux, real name Mthokozisi Mncwango, says goodbye to YFM’s breakfast show after a decade on-air.
- DJ Supta also exits YFM, wrapping up his 11-year run on the evening show Unlocked.
Radio host Mthaux has signed off from YFM’s Breakfast Show after 10 years behind the mic.
Mthaux, whose real name is Mthokozisi Mncwango, took to social media to announce his departure.
He said the decision to leave was not easy, but it was time to step away from being an on-air personality.
“I’d like to take a moment to announce my departure from the breakfast show on Y. After much consideration, I’ve decided to step back from being an on-air talent,” he wrote.
“To my managers, fellow DJs, colleagues, friends, family, and everyone who has supported me—thank you! I’m proud to have helped share queer voices on the radio. Let’s kiki one last time this week!”
He co-hosted the popular breakfast slot with Nia Brown and Okay Wasabi.
Mthaux’s exit comes as the station prepares to reshuffle its on-air line-up.
DJ Supta is also saying goodbye to YFM after 11 years. He hosted the evening show #Unlocked and did his final broadcast recently.
“Eleven years have come to an end, but what an amazing run and opportunity. I will forever be grateful for this amazing platform,” he said.
Both Mthaux and DJ Supta leave a lasting legacy at YFM as the station heads into a new chapter.
