Mosimane set to receive over R20m from Al Ahli

Pitso Mosimane has won his legal battle against his former club Al Ahli Saudi following a Fifa tribunal ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The dispute arose over the club’s sudden termination of Mosimane’s contract and outstanding payments, including salaries and bonuses.

Mosimane, who had successfully led Al Ahli to promotion into the Saudi Pro League, found himself relieved of his duties before the club fulfilled its financial obligations to him and his technical team.

The coach took the matter to Fifa, where it was determined that Al Ahli had breached the contract.

As a result of the ruling, Mosimane is set to receive a sum of R22.2-million.

According to Article 57 of the Fifa statutes, Al Ahli has the right to appeal this decision within 21 days of receiving the notification from the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

It remains unclear whether Al Ahli has chosen to appeal.

Mosimane, however, continues to focus on his coaching career and on working to prevent the Abha Club from being relegated from the Saudi Pro League.
