Former Selimathunzi presenter Xolani Ngema has been found alive in Cosmo City after being missing since 25 October.

Police rescued Ngema, who has acted in Isithembiso, The River and Rhythm City, after he managed to call them using his phone. His kidnappers had already extorted R5,000 from his contacts while holding him.

After his rescue from three criminals, Ngema thanked those who helped find him.

“I would like to thank everyone who took their time and made sure that I was rescued in Cosmo City from my kidnappers. Please allow the police investigation to take place; I’ll come and update you about what really happened when the police are done with their investigation,ā€ he told Scrolla.Africa.

He also had words for those who made fun of his kidnapping.

“To those who were rejoicing over what happened to me, all I can say is that until what happened to me happens to you or your family member, you will understand,” he said.

Ngema wouldn’t share details about the incident, saying he needs time to heal.

“I don’t wanna trend. What I went through is enough, my brother. I don’t want it to go into archives. Angfuni kube nomlando ngakho, because it was very traumatic. I’m busy with counselling officers for now,” he said.
