Miss South Africa 2020, Shudufhadzo Musida has made it into the top 40 of Miss World.

“I am so humbled to announce that I have made it to the Miss World Top 40,” the 25-year-old shared the news on social media thanking friends and fans for their support.

“My biggest driver was ‘beauty with a purpose’ and to have my project chosen as one of the winners is such an honour,”

“To have met the other contestants as the human embodiment of beauty with a purpose made the journey that much more fulfilling,” she said.

The Miss World pageant was due to host its 70th edition in December 2021 but the event was postponed to March this year due to Covid-19 concerns.

“I’m so excited to be returning to Puerto Rico in March,” said Musida, who will be representing South Africa.

If she wins the prestigious Miss World crown on 16 March, Musida will become the fourth South African to win the pageant.

“To my beautiful South Africa, Ndo livhuwa, it takes a village, and it is our stories and your support that have led me to this point. To my Miss World family, thank you.”
