  • Jake Paul dominated Mike Tyson in an eight-round fight, landing nearly 100 punches while the 58-year-old boxing legend only landed 18.
  • Tyson refused to blame his knee injury for the loss and even hinted at fighting Jake’s brother Logan Paul next.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul beat boxing legend Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in their eight-round professional fight on Saturday morning.

The 27-year-old Paul dominated the fight, landing nearly 100 punches, while 58-year-old Tyson managed only 18.

Though many expected an early knockout, the fight went all eight rounds, with Paul appearing to hold back when he hurt Tyson.

Despite wearing a knee brace, Tyson showed good defence, but his age showed as his legs struggled to keep up. He refused to blame the injury for his loss.

In a respectful speech after winning, Paul praised Tyson: “He’s the greatest ever to do it. He’s the GOAT… we wouldn’t be here today without him.”

Tyson made light of being seen biting his glove during the fight, joking: “I have a biting fixation” – referring to the time he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear in a fight.

The former heavyweight champion, whose record is now 50-7-2, surprised everyone by hinting at another fight, possibly against Jake’s brother Logan Paul. When Logan heard this, he replied: “Motherf*cker. I’ll kill you.”

“I didn’t prove nothing to anybody, only to myself,” Tyson said after the loss. “I’m not one of those guys that looks to please the world.”

The fight was live-streamed on Netflix, with the platform crashing moments before the fight and struggling with buffering issues throughout the card.
