Pastor Paseka Mboro of Incredible Happenings Church in Ekurhuleni believes his arrest on 5 August was intended to tarnish his reputation.

He alleges it was to keep him behind bars while his enemies destroyed his family and church.

Addressing the media at his home in Albermler near Alberton on Wednesday, Mboro said pastors, including Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, allegedly worked with a cartel known as Sekepe to have him arrested.

The cartel attempted to kill him at his church in July last year, and between March and April this year, he said, which led to some church members getting injured.

“The SAPS public order police had to be deployed to my church.

“They want to ruin me, these people, and won’t stop until I am gone,” he said.

Sharing his experience in Boksburg prison, Mboro said: “I have been arrested before but made it only to the police holding cells; this was my first time in prison.”

Mboro has offered a R5,000 reward for information regarding those who organised buses for learners to be transported to his church, which was then burned down.

The damage to the church is estimated to be over R1-million.

The attack on the church followed Mboro’s attempted armed kidnapping of his two grandchildren from the Matshidiso Primary School in Katlehong in August.

Mboro said that he doesn’t blame the learners as he believes they were fighting on behalf of his grandchildren.

“They believed that I kidnapped the children to use them for muthi,” he said.

Mboro said his legal costs have reached over R1-million since the case started, and threatened that the people behind his arrest will pay for the damage.

He said he is receiving financial pledges from other pastors.

His case at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court was postponed to 21 October for further investigation after he was released on bail of R3,000 on 12 September.

Mboro, his bodyguard Vincent Baloyi and son Clement Motshoeneng are facing, among others, charges for kidnapping, discharging of a gun, pointing of a firearm, assault by way of threats, malicious damage to property (where Mboro used his panga to break the padlock to gain access to the school) and possession of dangerous firearms.
